Actinic Keratoses (AK) represent chronic sun damage. They appear at sun-exposed areas as patches of roughness and redness. Face, scalp, back of the hands and arms are typically affected. AK need to be treated as may turn into a malignancy. Treatment options available are: freezing spray (cryotherapy), 5-Fluorouracil cream, imiquimod cream, electrodissecation, curettage, etc. The use of sunblock is highly recommended to prevent further damage.
